Join us for the

“Summer Make-Up Class”

  • A recap on the program & activities of the April 2009 Women’s Retreat in beautiful Idyllwild by those who attended.
  • A card-making class for those who were unable to attend the March M-M and/or those who needed to leave early before finishing both cards. (Bring back your unused class materials & learn to make both cards!) 

IMPORTANT: all card-crafters need to bring scissors,

regular AND double stick scotch tape, pencil/pen &

notepaper.

No stamping experience is necessary to join in on the fun.

Youth Hiking Trip (6-6-09)

Youth Hiking Trip to Horton Creek

It’s time to get out again and see God’s handiwork.  Below are the details.  Please RSVP as soon as you can so we can get a head count.
 
Where:
Horton Creek  – The hike is 4 miles 1-way.  It is a moderate incline most of the way, except for the last mile where it gets a little more steep.  The trailhead starts at a campground so there are facilities there but bring toilet paper at your discretion.
 
When: Saturday, June 6th
 
Departure Time & Places:
Calvin OPC at 8:00 am – The Phoenix crew will leave from COPC promptly at 8:00am.  I plan to drive the Blake’s van and Chris Decker will be driving one of their vehicles.  If enough folks from the east valley are going, please coordinate with Chris so that you do not have to drive all the way into PHX.  We will meet up with you at Bush Highway and the Beeline.  For the Prescott crew, it may make more sense to meet up in Prescott if someone from your congregation would like to go as well.
 
Arrival Time & Place:
Calvin OPC at 6:00 – 8:00 pm – Our arrival time back at COPC will depend on how long we stay up at the spring / dinner in Payson, etc.  My best guess for when we will arrive back at the church would be 7:30pm.
 
What to Wear:
shorts
t-shirt (you may want to bring a sweatshirt/wind breaker in case of weather)
comfortable shoes
 
What to Bring:
day pack or fanny pack
water (water at spring is drinkable and Chris will be bringing a filter)
sunscreen
hat
sunglasses
sack lunch
any snacks you may want to eat along the trail
grocery bags for trash
$5-$10 for dinner in Payson
